abstract = "This paper presents a system for the capture and the composition
of three-dimensional video with firewire cameras. We have
developed a software application for capturing synchronized video,
so that a couple of videos corresponding to the right and left
eyes can be recorded in the hard disk. The main features of this
application are: the execution of camera calibration procedure,
the correction of image distortion caused by the lens radial
distortion, and the synchronization of cameras to capture video
through the firewire bus. The final composition of the
stereoscopic video is accomplished through appropriate reference
software. An experimental stereoscopic video were generated
through this system as a proof of concept. The resulting video
file was satisfactory regarding the visualization of
three-dimensional effect of the content of the captured video.
According to our free subjective evaluation, there was no
distortion in the images or unpleasant effects.",
